Joanna Lumley To Host BAFTA Film Awards
Yes, Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous will be hosting a big awards show this year.
This is an especially big deal as Lumley will be following in the footsteps of the venerable Stephen Fry who has hosted the ceremony a dozen times.
The BAFTA Film Awards are set for Sunday, Feb. 18th.
As Absolutely Fabulous is doing a full length feature film, Edina and Patsy are getting into more trouble than they have ever gotten into before.
Their collateral damage from this international trailer includes multiple countries and Kate Moss just for starters.
The premiere date has yet to be announced, but, for now, just enjoy that Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley are returning to screens, cigarettes in hand, ready to end everything they say with ‘darling’.
Arguably ahead of its time, Absolutely Fabulous was a British sitcom that started in the 90s and was unfiltered at a time when many American sitcoms were not.
A score later, it’s getting the movie treatment and both Edina and Patsy (Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley) are looking as ab fab as ever.

Absolutely Fabulous, the renowned BBC sitcom from the early 90s and 2000s with Jennifer Saunders and Joanna Lumley, is apparently going to be made into a movie.
Saunders has just finished a script, which is very good to hear, and is looking to have go into production in 2015. If that happens, this will be at least one TV series movie adaptation we can look forward to.
