Much has been written about the dramatic tinges and existential comedy of the critically acclaimed animated sitcom BoJack Horseman. Creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg has even said that he has intentionally shifted the emotional tone of the series over entire seasons in order to tell the sort of stories you don’t normally see in an animated cartoon series.

YouTube channel Wisecrack has gone over all three seasons, found echoes of the likes of Sartre and Camus and more famous philosophers, and presents them all nice and nearly in this video essay (warning: contains spoilers).
