When Jaws came out in 1975, it was a milestone in cinematic history. Unfortunately, it also spawned a bunch of imitators and set up the framework for Hollywood’s countless attempts to establish a tentpole movie franchise.
Take your song of the summer, whatever it is, and forget it. Then, replace with your suite of the summer as done by the endlessly talented Eban Schletter and his Amity Suite.
He played it recently at Paul F. Tompkins live variety show, Varietopia and it in place of lyrics that you can scream over and over, there’s plenty of twists and turns that will be fun to hum and see if you can get the timing right.
