Nicole Byer to Host 2020 Creative Arts Emmys Over 5 Nights

The world would be a better place if Nicole Byer was hosting a lot of it.

Thankfully, that is happening. Already, she has a veritable empire of podcasts that she hosts/has hosted and she is rightfully earned an Emmy nomination for hosting Nailed It! on Netflix.

Now, she is being tapped to host The Creative Arts Emmys (i.e. the Emmys ceremony for the dozens of technical and niche categories you don’t ever get to see on TV), which is opting for a virtual experience to be streamed on Emmys.com over 5 nights. Since it’s streaming online, we can only hope that Byer’s let loose to do she wants and crack whatever joke, especially if it’s particularly blue, throughout her hosting run. Hopefully, this will lead to countless other awards hosting gigs for Nicole since, as stated above, the world would be a better place for it.

Catch Nicole Byer hosting The Creative Arts Emmys starting Mon. Sept. 14th-Sat. Sept. 19th at Emmys.com.

Rachel Bloom to Host This Year’s Obie Awards

Post Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, we can definitely see Rachel Bloom being the perfect person to host those big, high stakes awards shows.

It’s this celebration of Off-Broadway productions at The Obie Awards for now, but we’d like to see her host the Tonys, Golden Globes, Emmys, etc. (maybe even the Oscars if they decide to have a host again) as her skill set is exactly what’s needed at a big time awards show (comedic chops, singing, dancing, making fun of the entertainment biz). Don’t be entirely surprised if she becomes a go-to awards host in the not so distant future.

For now, The Obie Awards are set for May 20th in NYC and, hopefully, we can find clips of it shortly thereafter.

Tig Notaro Throws Her Name In For Consideration To Host Next Year’s Oscars

“Might as well hire me now before the Latin Grammy’s catch wind of my availability and scoop me up.”

–Tig Notaro

Tig has written an open letter to The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences that she should be considered to host the 2016 Oscars awards ceremony. She gives plenty of great reasons like the one above as well as being able to promote the telecast through her podcast.

If this seriously happens, we’d bet it would be one of the most unforgettable Oscars ever and might bring back those 7 million folks who went missing from this year’s Oscars telecast ratings.

You can read Tig’s letter in full here and then please share it #HashTigOscars

TJ Miller Hosted The Crunchie Awards And It Was, Of Course, One Crunchie Awards To Never Forget

When making public appearances or hosting anything, TJ Miller is always one to go for the hilarity of the spectacle. Miller has made himself a legend on morning talk shows, filled in wonderfully for Chelsea Handler on Chelsea Lately, had a “meltdown” when guest hosting The Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, and more.

So, it shouldn’t surprise you that TJ did some sharp crowd work at an awards ceremony and really got some nice roast jokes in on an almost all Silicon Valley (the real one) crowd as the host of Tech Crunch’s Crunchie Awards.

After all of this, you should definitely be looking to hire TJ Miller for your next high profile event whether your high profile event can handle it or not.

Did you hear? These fine people are co-hosting the Film Independent #SpiritAwards! Feb. 21. http://t.co/SlNcJrrP80 pic.twitter.com/RTEhghH6UY

— Film Independent (@filmindependent) January 14, 2015

The Film Independent Spirit Awards has been hosted by the likes of Patton Oswalt and Seth Rogen. They’re staying the wheelhouse with hosts as they’ve just landed Kristen Bell and Fred Armisen to oversee the awards ceremonies.

Maybe, if we’re lucky, Bell will have to handle a sloth and Armisen will have to go head-to-head in an impression off with Bill Hader.

The Spirit Awards will air live on Feb. 21st at 2PM on IFC.

AVN Awards Name Danielle Stewart as Comedic Co-Host

We were not even aware that comedians took on any hosting duties for the adult entertainment industry’s AVN Awards, but, apparently, the likes of Dave Attell, April Macie, and Robert Schimmel have all done the gig.

This year, The AVN Awards have wisely chosen the sharp and saucy Danielle Stewart as their comedic co-host and will make be shown somewhere on cable in 2015.

Given that the event is set to actually happen in Jan., we wonder what sort of fun stuff they will cut out for air over those few months.

Neil Patrick Harris to Host Oscars

It’s about time that one of the best awards show hosts in the business, Neil Patrick Harris, gets a crack at The Oscars.

Not only is it a perfect choice with all his ability to sing, dance, be funny, and poised, that might leave all those live-tweeting wanting to not be snarky, but, apparently, it’s been on his bucket list for quite some time now.

Patton Oswalt to Host Spirit Awards

The Independent Spirit Awards has had quite the decidedly more bold (and often times more fun) choices for host over the years.

John Waters, Sarah Silverman, Steve Coogan, Joel McHale, Seth Rogen, and more have taken the Spirit Awards stage as the host and we can’t wait to see what Patton Oswalt will do in joining their ranks.

Nick Kroll To Host 23rd Gotham Awards

We know it probably won’t go down like this, but it would be amazing if Nick Kroll even hosted part of the Gotham Awards as his beloved character El Chupacabra.

Ellen DeGeneres to Host Oscars Again

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences has enlisted the talents of Ellen DeGeneres yet again to host The Oscars. Obviously, the tone will be much different than that of a Seth MacFarlane hosted Oscars, but we’re curious to see how the monologue and various hosting duties will go having won a Mark Twain Prize for Humor since her last time as an Oscars host.
