After hearing about a multitude of days honoring food, friendship, and any other random concepts, we’re glad to finally hear about a day that might carry a little more gravity about it.

NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio has made a proclamation for NYC that Aug. 6th, which was Jon Stewart’s last day at The Daily Show, will be known as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart Day. According to Wikipedia, Jon will be sharing the day with the Independence Days of Bolivia and Jamaica.

If next Aug. 6th, you see a bunch of Jon Stewart .gifs in your various social media feeds, this will probably be why.

Recently: Are we celebrating a holiday today?  I had no idea.  Really, I didn’t.  I’m a workaholic that actually barely processes the concept of a holiday.  Luckily, comedian Jim Gaffigan fills in some holes as far as this whole “holiday mystery” thing is concerned.  (Yeah, I’m still drinking tonight. Don’t worry.)
