Jason Alexander To Step In After Larry David Leaves His “Fish In The Dark”

Perhaps, you didn’t need more links between George Costanza and Larry David, but this one’s pretty big.

Larry David has himself booked in his hit Broadway play Fish In The Dark until June. However, the play will continue to run after his exit with Jason Alexander coming in place of David starting Jun. 9th.

On Seinfeld, George Costanza played by Alexander has been linked to Larry David as a sort of an extension of David. So, naturally, Alexander is the perfect person to fill in for David in David’s play.

We imagine whenever tickets are available, they’ll sell out fast.

Despite Larry David’s fear of pitchforks from his first foray into Broadway, his play Fish in the Dark is doing pretty, pretty, pretty great.

After 8 preview performances, it grossed over a $1 million and has already sold $13.5 million worth of advance tickets.

Our guess is that every single performance of Fish In The Dark will probably sold out even though it’s officially opening at the beginning of March and running up until the first week of June. So, get your tickets while you can.

If there’s another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm, maybe it will be centered around Larry writing and starring in a play?

Larry David is making the rounds to promote his new play Fish In The Dark and his latest interview on The Late Show with David Letterman is the closest you’ll get to a new episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm at this current moment.

The episodes could be called The Theater or The Maid and watching him talk with Dave over it, you can just imagine very vividly it like an episode of Curb.

This week, Larry David gave a little, emphasis on “a little”, insight into what the upcoming Broadway play that he wrote and will star in called Fish in the Dark while on The Tonight Show.

He also, in very Larry David fashion, hopes that, if it bombs commercially and critically, that no one will be coming with pitchforks after him.

Larry David’s upcoming play, now titled Fish in the Dark, is coming all together. Some of the cast has just been announced featuring Rosie Perez, Jake Cannavale, Jayne Houdyshell, Jonny Orsini, and Jerry Adler.

While they’re getting more of the moving pieces of David’s comedy focusing on a death in the family, previews will start at The Cort Theatre on Feb. 2nd next year and the official opening will come a month later on Mar. 5th.

So, you’re probably going to want to snag tickets as soon as you can.
