See? Having a genre defying, dark romantic musical comedy TV series isn’t so crazy.

The first season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend is going to feel more like a full-fledged TV season with five extra episodes having been ordered at The CW.

Hopefully, this will lead to a renewal pretty soon and keep CW’s comedy streak along with Jane The Virgin going.

8PM–Crazy Ex-Girlfriend-Series Premeire

More and more barriers are getting broken down with every new comedy that steps up to the plate of television. Jane The Virgin, which got plenty of critical acclaim in its first season and the full-on musical, and edgy romantic comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend represent The CW’s new intriguing block of this sort of comedy on Monday nights.

Also, they’re running an hour long each tonight just in case you were worried you weren’t going to get enough.

We hope this means that the CW knows something great that the rest of us don’t.

While it’s been quite the journey for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend starring Rachel Bloom, the show seems to be set for a great start at the CW. It’s set to premiere next week on Oct. 12th and already has scripts ordered from the network for a fuller first season.

With this doubling down already, the edgy romantic comedy musical series, which has been a been difficult for other networks to apparently wrap their head around, has something good going before it even hits screens everywhere.

After The Late Show with Stephen Colbert premieres in Sept., this will be the next thing to look forward to.

The CW might have a power comedy block on its hand with the arrival of dark romantic comedy musical series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend starring Rachel Bloom, which, from the looks of it, will be air before the critically acclaimed and award winning series Jane The Virgin.

Both series and season premiere will air on Oct. 19th with Crazy Ex-Girlfriend at 8PM and Jane The Virgin at 9PM.

Suit yourself, Showtime. It’s your loss.

The musical dark romantic comedy Crazy Ex-Girlfriend starring Rachel Bloom that Showtime ordered to pilot, then ultimately passed on, now has another life over at The CW.

CW has gotten plenty of praise for Jane The Virgin, and, from the looks of this Upfronts preview, they’re going to keep that ball of praise rolling.

Look for Crazy Ex-Girlfriend on Mondays at The CW starting this Fall.
