COPS is Getting Adapted Into Edgy Buddy Comedy Directed by Zombieland’s Ruben Fleischer

It’s been over 7 years since Reno 911! did a masterful send up of the long running, real life, docu-series COPS. 

Hopefully, this will make up for the 7 years of a comedic version of COPS not being around.

Obvious Child’s Jenny Slate, director Gillian Robespierre, and writer Elisabeth Holm are reuniting once again.

Ari Graynor and Jenny Slate are set to co-star in FX’s newest comedy pilot, co-created by Robespierre and Holm, that follows them on a road trip across the country. If you’ve seen Obvious Child, you know that there’s probably way more bubbling under the surface than just that broad premise and we’re excited to potentially see what that is.

Fox continues to make the most intriguing comedy development slate this season with bringing a project Conan O’Brien aboard. Whether it’s intentional or not, it seems like Fox is taking great ideas that NBC didn’t ultimately want.

Imagine Ken Marino has to be buddy buddy with his own actual inner demon, which is a pretty good pitch for a movie. Luckily, that got greenlit and made into a movie that is now Bad Milo.
