Lena Waithe’s Comedy Series “Twenties” Gets Series Order at BET

Whether you’re aware of it or not, Lena Waithe is becoming a power player in television. Between The Chi, her work on Master of None, this newly ordered comedy series about a queer black girl and her two best friends called Twenties, and the other sitcom that Waithe is co-creating at BET, Boomerang, Waithe’s empire grows very steadily.

Really can’t wait to see a teaser for Twenties and Waithe present a comedy from her voice first.

On this Thursday, October 12th, two more women, Sarah Silverman and Robin Thede will indeed premiere their own topical late night shows.

On Hulu, I Love You, America will have Sarah Silverman take her own heartfelt, yet unapologetically silly take on the world.

BET will enter the foray of late night with The Rundown with Robin Thede, a combo of the head writer of The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore and Chris Rock producing, with might be a traditional late night format, but focusing a little less on Trump.

Here’s Thede on MSNBC detailing what’s to come on The Rundown.

In any case, that means there are now four late night female hosts between Samantha Bee, Chelsea Handler, Sarah Silverman, and Robin Thede.

On Top of Seth Meyers’ TV Series Offer for Dropping Out, John Oliver Offers Up His Emmy to Donald Trump If He Gives Concession Speech

Maybe he’ll forget about doing Trump TV as well.

On last night’s Last Week Tonight, John Oliver offered a proposition to Donald Trump in the form of a bet that promised Trump to get Oliver’s Emmy award should he lose, which is become more and more inevitable everyday. That all stems from the Trump’s mention of how he should have won an Emmy for The Apprentice, and, of course, calling NATAS rigged when he didn’t.

So, at this point, Trump, if he was to take late night hosts up on their offers could drop out and get a fake TV show (maybe) from Seth Meyers and give a concession speech and get an Emmy that isn’t his. As far as runner-up prizes go, that’s way more than he deserves.
