The World Famous Comedy Store wouldn’t be “World Famous” without Mitzi Shore at the helm of the long standing LA institution. From the 70s onwards, Shore laid down a legacy at 8433 W. Sunset Blvd. on the Sunset Strip that spans several generations of comedy and will probably continue to do so for many more generations onwards.

Really, she even helped cement the notion of what a “comedy club” is before comedy clubs took hold nationwide in the 80s on top of personally passing comedy legends whose names are still up on the wall right now.

Today, Mitzi Shore passed away and, in her honor, The Comedy Store will go dark this evening.
