There was a time and place (the 80s) when David Letterman was on later in the evening/early morning and he was a lot more like Conan O’Brien willing to let things play out. Specifically, comedic actor and voice over talent James Urbaniak interrupted Letterman whilst Letterman was stumbling over a joke to fix it and, lo and behold, Letterman did.
