Not only have entertainment industry trade papers invoked the rare term of boffo for The Lego Movie’s $69 million debut weekend, but it’s pretty fantastic. Writers Phil Lord and Chris Miller make one hell of an imaginative, fun romp through something that we couldn’t possibly think could have a story. Also, a stellar cast of Chris Pratt, Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks, Alison Brie, Nick Offerman, Will Ferrell, Will Arnett, and more make for a thoroughly good time.

Not even a theater half full of kids wondering what all the adults are laughing at ruined the experience of The Lego Movie.
