While all the schools that teach improv in LA have some sort of tournament system and/or a regularly scheduled cagematch, it’s much harder to put together a tournament without such a school/venue in place.
That’s why it’s impressive to see that not only have the several independently produced improv shows in the city (Crashbar, TNT, the 11th Hour Show, Manifesto Show, etc.) banded together to put on The Indie Improv Tournament, but they’re doing it for their second year in a row.
