While there are homes for stand-up, improv, and sketch all around LA, the Lyric Hyperion Table & Stage (formerly Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe) has carved its own niche as a home for more experimental comedy, often featuring modern/postmodern “clowning” and “idiot” performances. Run by many of the frequent performers, the Lyric Hyperion has also become the destination to see the best comedic solo shows, often before they go on to interational acclaim.
