At YouTube’s Official Comedy, the Full On Koechner writing staff has got the Internet and viral videos figured out, so let’s just sit in on one of their meetings to see what exactly those are.
Spoiler alert: this video is called Cats and Balls, but you should watch it anyway both for how funny and true it is.
At YouTube Studios this past week, 5 Second Films really played against type by doing a 4.5 hour live streamed show. Of course, not everyone had a 4.5 hour chunk in their day when the show happened, so they put the whole thing up in it’s entirety for your viewing pleasure.

Set List, the improvised stand-up show, was one of the closing shows at YouTube’s Comedy Week and caught Jon Dore, Dan Van Kirk as Mark Wahlberg, Moshe Kasher, Matt Kirshen, and Kira Soltanovich making it up and making it funny as they go along.

5 Second Films To Host Live Stream-a-Thon Show at YouTube Studios
Not sure if you caught this earlier in the week, but the amazing 5 Second Films are not only raising money for their feature project Dude Bro Party Massacre 3, but in doing so are hosting a live show to be streamed from YouTube Studios (the site of YouTube Comedy Week) featuring not only them, but some of their hysterical friends on June 20th.
You can be in the audience if you donate enough, which might be worth it. Either way you should support their project so Dude Bro Party Massacre 3 can happen.

YouTube’s very first Comedy Week has come to a close and was a rush of the Internet’s favorite comedy. Nerdist Channel’s latest show, Set List, the international phenomenon of an improvised stand-up show, uploaded the latest episodes featuring the talents of Mark Wahlberg (played by the immensely talented Dan Van Kirk) and the hilarious Rory Scovel with a slightly German accent. Both are great and completely made up on the spot and you should watch them right now.

YouTube To Have ‘This Better Be Funny’ Comedy Week
From May 19th to May 25th, YouTube will have a special week featuring the best of comedy under their umbrella with, of course, videos, but live shows, etc. from the likes of Rainn Wilson, Sarah Silverman and Michael Cera of JASH, Jimmy Kimmel, Norm Macdonald, The Onion, CollegeHumor, Funny or Die, and more.
However, as there is ‘This Better Be Funny’ in the name of said comedy week, we’re not officially doing anything in association with it (i.e. we have a great podcast called This Better Be Funny that you should give a listen to). That is to say, we’re not doing anything yet, perhaps... maybe…
The very funny sketch group D.I.R.T. Comedy at Official Comedy shows that if Don Draper from Mad Men would come up with ads all the way to now, he would come up with almost every successful ad campaign ever.

Ricky Gervais To Make More Content Just For His YouTube Channel
Perhaps following on the tails of JASH, Ricky Gervais is going to up his content on the web by making original videos, etc. specifically for the web.
We do have to say that funny people with big online followings capitalizing on them by producing original content is no real surprise here.
One of the best live comedy experiences around, Set List, has traveled the world doing every comedy festival imaginable, been made into a TV show that airs in the UK and Australia, and now is finally coming back, state side, via the Nerdist’s YouTube Channel in the form of 20 live taped episodes with the likes of Bob Odenkirk, Jackie Kashian, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Byron Bowers, and more according to a press release of an agreement between Set List and Nerdist.
If you haven’t been to Set List yet, you can see it live this month, which means, if you’re in or can get to LA on Sat. Mar. 30th (7PM and 9PM shows), you can catch Drew Carey, Eddie Pepitone, Cameron Esposito, Moshe Kasher, Rory Scovel, The Sklar Brothers, TJ Miller, Fortune Feimster, Reggie Watts, and more fantastic comedians create stand-up right then and there in the most amazing way possible.
Not that any of you were doubting it, but this is great news all around and you should catch/watch all of this if and when you can.
