Steven Wright Chats with Craig Ferguson One Last Time on The Late Late Show

We’ve made it no secret around here at The Comedy Bureau that one of our favorite things in comedy is Steven Wright chatting with Craig Ferguson. The unique weirdness of each of them melds into something special and, of course, damn funny every single time.

Yet, as Craig is ending his run at The Late Late Show, Wright’s last conversation with Ferguson on the show happened last night and it was just as great as all the other ones they’ve had over the years.

Hopefully, what they have going on here will keep going and maybe turn into “Wright In Conversation with Ferguson” because we most certainly would obsessively watch that.

Watch Craig Ferguson and Steven Wright’s last chat on The Late Late Show here or on CBS.com here starting around 15:34.

The final days of Craig Ferguson’s hosting of The Late Late Show over at CBS are coming soon. In anticipation of that, the guests for the final episodes have been teased, which include many of Craig’s favorite guests such as Thomas Lennon, Tim Meadows, Henry Winkler, Rashida Jones, Steve Carell, Lisa Kudrow, Mila Kunis, and more.

For the final send-off, Ferguson will have late night host compatriot Jay Leno as he joins him in late night host retirement.

We hope amidst this cavalcade, one of our favorite guests on The Late Late Show, Stephen Wright will also be stopping by to wish Ferguson bon voyage.

This weekend, we were treated to the likes of Brian Regan, The Lucas Brothers, and even Chris Rock, in a way, doing stand-up on late night TV.

So, we’ll cap this weekend off with the debut of Alingon Mitra, who’s already gotten to do stand-up on Last Comic Standing and Adam Devine’s House Party, on The Late Late Show on Craig Ferguson.

The dates have been made official for the departure of The Late Late Show’s current host Craig Ferguson and his upcoming predecessor James Corden.

Ferguson’s final show will air Dec. 19th and Corden will have his debut on Mar. 9th.

There is rumor, according to The Wrap, that there will be guest hosts throughout that winter gap. If this does indeed happen, there’s a treasure trove of comedians for those spots here in LA and around the country, not to mention the other folks that were in talks for The Late Late Show earlier this year, that would do splendidly.

All of us were lucky enough to get T.J. Miller on late night twice this week with stops at Conan and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Not that were any sort of medical authority, but we figure that you need a good dose of T.J. in your life. So, enjoy T.J. talking to Conan O’Brien about his performance art morning news appearances and then proposing only like T.J. Miller would and having all sorts of hijnks and then doing stand-up on Ferguson.

Carmen Lynch has already notched in two sets at Letterman and, last week, made her way onto The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson with another great stand-up set.

We wouldn’t be surprised at all if she makes all the rounds at late night with a performance like this.

James Corden Will Indeed Be Replacing Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show

A few months ago, there was a rumor that leaked that one James Corden from the UK would be replacing Craig Ferguson as host of The Late Late Show at CBS. There was only one unnamed source and neither CBS, Ferguson, or Corden would confirm the rumor, so we continued to wait for the official word on CBS’ choice.

Well, as of today, CBS has confirmed that Corden will succeed Ferguson as another host from across the pond of The Late Late Show starting some time after Ferguson leaves in December and heads for his syndicated 7PM show through Tribute Media.

So, 2015’s CBS late night line-up will be The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and The Late Late Show with James Corden, which will be probably the most intriguing move in late night in the last few years.

Succinct in description and detail, Ted Alexandro gives us a very clear picture of being 45 years old throughout his set on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson last night.

Hopefully, there’s better social media when millennials turn 45 as to not have to deal with what Ted puts up with. Watch his set here.
