Honest Trailers and Jimmy Kimmel Live Win Streamy Awards

This past weekend, The annual Streamy Awards honoring anything and everything that you can stream online (though they seem to want to avoid overlapping with The Emmys too much) announced their winners for this year.

Those winners included Screen Junkies’ web series Honest Trailers for Best Writing and Jimmy Kimmel Live’s Mean Tweets for Best Collaboration. In addition to this win, both were up for Emmys this year as well.

We can only see this awards show getting bigger as streaming because more tied-into how you watch anything that you watch on a screen.

Congratulations to Key & Peele’s Vandaveon and Mike, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, Between Two Ferns, Convos with My 2-Year-Old, Epic Rap Battles of History, Epic Meal Time, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and more winning the first few categories including Overall Channel, Show, or Series, Performance, Special, etc. of this year’s Streamy Awards.

The rest of the winners will be announced this Sunday 7:30PM and, of course, streamed live here.

The annual awards, The Streamys, that give distinction to the best video content online are back. Their comedy nominations have some of the usual suspects like Between Two Ferns, but the amazing ArScheerio Paul also got two nominations.

The Streamy Awards Are Taking Submissions

The Streamy Awards is in its 4th year in recognizing excellence in online streaming content, given how wide and varied it is. In fact, as online video is so expansive, they will be taking submissions for nominees in addition to choosing some via panel.

Submissions are open from now until July 27th and yes, there’s a Vine Comedian category.
