John Cleese Talks About The Dark Humor He Had With His Mother and Needing To Be Funny on Conan

The legendary John Cleese stopped by Conan to promote his memoir So Anyway… and gave us insight to the formative years of John Cleese and why he is funny the way he is.

Specifically, he felt that being funny was a necessity for him at one point in his life as well as dealing with his rather morose mother and making her laugh.

You’ll see why Cleese went the way he did in Monty Python.
