UAE to Release Shez Cassim After 9 Months of Imprisonment Over an Internet Parody Video
After months of wholly undeserved jail time and a recent public outcry, Shez Cassim, the maker of an Internet parody video on youth culture in Dubai, will be released and come home to the U.S.
Good job, Internet.
Shez Cassim Still in Jail in United Arab Emirates for Parody Video
Shez Cassim and his friends have been in jail in the United Arab Emirates for making a parody video for several months.
Only know have they been sentenced to a year in jail, though whether those months will count or they’ll have to serve their full sentence and get deported back to the U.S. has yet to be officially seen.
Whatever government arm that’s in charge of public relations for the UAE must be taking the holidays off.
