Pick of the Day: Roz Hernandez (in NYC) 11/8

October 30, 2023
News
new york comedy, ny comedy fest, roz hernandez, stand up comedy

If you somehow weren’t aware, Roz Hernandez is having a moment (and then some). There’s her hit podcast Ghosted!, then the upcoming Hulu comedy adjacent, supernatural reality series Living for the Dead, and then there’s her headlining show at the New York Comedy Festival.

That’s right, Roz will be front and center at the historic Stonewall Inn on Nov. 8th at 7PM as one of, as far as we’re concerned, one of the highlights/gems/must-sees of the entire festival (and there’s a whole lot of everything comedy to choose from). In general, Roz’s penchant for delightful, exuberant mischief is something you should never miss if it’s going to happen anywhere near you, but you definitely need to go snag tix at $25.55 to see Roz put on a gala worthy show at NYCF.

Pick of the Day: The Comedy Bureau’s Most Wanted List (in LA) 6/20

News
Best Actress, best of, curtis cook, jessy morner ritt, los angeles comedy, milan patel, mk paulsen, roz hernandez, very best, who to watch

Our Director/Founder here at TCB, Jake Kroeger, watches comedy closely like no one else. Usually perched in the back of the room at multitudes of shows a night, every night of the week, he has a preternatural sense of comedy, especially when it comes to discovering who is deserving of the label “the next big thing”.

With all that in mind, Jake is going to assemble his very favorite comedians that deserve so much shine that they should be chased by everyone (i.e. “most wanted”) for a very special curated evening of comedy at Lyric Hyperion on Tues. Jun. 20th at 7:30PM of names you should be reading in Deadline for how damn funny they all are.

This edition of The Comedy Bureau’s Most Wanted List the brilliant comedic wares of

Best Actress (most wanted for their precision in high difficulty absurdity)

Curtis Cook (most wanted for his uncanny ability to distill the intersection of difficult subject matter into hysterical human stories)

Roz Hernandez (most wanted for her indomitable style, both with delivering a sharply written bit and colorful style)

Jessy Morner-Ritt (most wanted for her comedic verve that balances joy and ridiculous abandon)

Milan Patel (most wanted for seeing the comedic minutia in some of the most outrageous events in human history)

MK Paulsen (most wanted for being able to deliver more punchlines and tags than a multi-cam sitcom and being having them all be much more clever and subversive than them too)

SEE FOR YOURSELF WHAT WE’RE SAYING BY BUYING TICKETS TO THE COMEDY BUREAU’S MOST WANTED LIST @ LYRIC HYPERION TUES. JUN. 20TH at 7:30PM RIGHT NOW (they’re only $15 right now).

The Comedy Bureau Field Report Ep. 125: Roz Hernandez & Second Go Arounds

August 17, 2022
News, The Comedy Bureau Field Report
drag, los angeles comedy, roz hernandez, trans

Not only is Roz Hernandez one of the folks that you should absolutely be watching while they ascend to comedy stardom, but she has one of the most fascinating comedy journeys that we’ve ever come across. From comedy to drag to doing both, then, in the midst of lockdown, opting to transition from the drag queen Roz Drezfalez to Roz Hernandez and being her most hysterical self to waves of raucous laughter and applause. Roz shares that long and winding path while we recorded the episode for a 2nd time, relocating from Erewhon patio to Del Taco parking lot.

Without a doubt, one of the most fun eps. we had and worth going around a 2nd time.

Follow Roz @itsrozhernandez on Twitter and TikTok, @rozhernandez on IG, and listen to Ghosted!
