Riot LA To Have The Rodney Dangerfield Stand Up Stand Out Award
The Riot LA Comedy Festival gets bigger and better with every passing day, especially since it’s happening next weekend. They have just announced that they’re going to have an honorary award showcase of comedians vying for The Rodney Dangerfield Stand Up Stand Out Award.
Just in case you didn’t know, Dangerfield was known for bringing up young comedians, one of them being Sam Kinison, in TV showcase specials. In the same spirit, this award searches for “originality, creativity, spirit and execution.
This year, in the showcase, will be Kate Berlant, Chris Garcia, Eliza Skinner, Tony Baker, Ian Karmel, Josh Fadem, and Christian Duguay, along with Fred Willard, Paul Rodriguez, Joan Dangerfield, and Dom Irrera judging which is a line-up you shouldn’t miss (get festival passes here).

Rodney Dangerfield’s wife Joan Dangerfield launched a site in his memory and somehow was able to snatch the URL www.rodney.com as well as make it like a high class museum. It features clips of Rodney, and exhibits, if you will, showcasing his wonderful career.
