Take a Gander at Charlie Day’s Directorial Debut, “Fool’s Paradise”

After 15 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and having a nice rom com turn in I Want You Back, it’s not at all surprising that Charlie Day is taking a turn in sitting in the director’s chair.

With all of the accolades he’s built with Always Sunny, his very first turn directing a feature film, Fool’s Paradise, comes with the perks of a dream ensemble cast (including Ray Liotta, John Malkovich, Ken Jeong, Edie Falco, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Adrien Brody, Common, and Kate Beckinsale) and doing something as high concept as having a very, very loose riff on The Prince and the Pauper that runs amok in Tinseltown. Day plays lookalikes, one a method actor that has become too method and the other being a recently released mental hospital patient (who can’t seem to talk) set to step in where the actor refuses to work.

Needless to say, chaos ensues, which is something that Day is pretty mastered at after doing such a thing for 15 seasons. Take a look at yourself at what Day has cooked up with the first official trailer for Fool’s Paradise here, then look for it in theaters starting May 12th.
