Slowly (oh, so slowly), but surely, the tide is shifting towards ridding sports of racist mascots, especially when it comes to those that denigrate Native Americans. That said, there are those folks who have a hard time with change, even if it’s clearly the right thing to do because… they spent too much money on merch?

We’d really hope folks are past claiming the argument “that’s always been their name, so it should stay that way,” but, undoubtedly, there are folks that think it’s their “heritage”.
