Submissions for 2018 Los Angeles Film Festival Now Open

If you want to submit any sort of comedy film, short film, web series, music videos, etc. to a big film festival and not have to leave town if it gets picked (or come to LA if it does and you’re from out of town), then get to work on submitting to the LA Film Festival.

Here are a few specifics: 

Submission Deadlines
Early Deadline: February 12, 2018
Regular Deadline: April 9, 2018
Late Deadline: May 21, 2018
Exclusive Late Deadline: June 1, 2018 — Film Independent Members only

Categories:
Feature-length Fiction and Documentary Films (more than 51 minutes)
Short films (less than 26 minutes)
Mid-length short films (between 26 and 50 minutes)
High school shorts (less than 20 minutes)
Web Series (less than 12 minutes)

2017 LA Film Festival Now Taking Submissions

Late deadline is December 16, 2016. 

Early deadline is October 28, 2016.
Regular deadline is November 18th, 2016.

The LA Film Festival will be taking submissions for films, both feature and short, and episodic series.

The fees range from $15-$50 for early deadline, $20-$75 for regular, and $25-$100 for late.

Yes, they’re accepting submissions for web series and “alternative digital content”.

Los Angeles’ own highly touted LA Film Festival is coming up in June 2016 and they’re now taking submissions. While they have traditional categories of feature films, short films, and documentaries, they’re also be accepting, with some caveats, various web videos/series/digital content that we’re sure you all have.

The early deadline is Nov. 20th, the official deadline is Dec. 14th, and the late deadline is Jan. 15th.

The Comedy Line-Up For The LA Film Festival Includes 5 Second Films, JASH, and More

There is definitely going to be plenty more than gripping dramas and documentaries to watch at this year’s LA Film Fest.

This year’s LA Film Festival, running Jun. 10th-18th in Downtown LA, will feature slasher comedy Dude Bro Party Massacre III from 5 Second Films, an Evening of Buh Comedy presented by JASH, The Overnight, People Places Things with Jemaine Clement, a great comedy short/live comedy showcase in Funny or Die’s Make ‘em LAFF, visits to Manson Family sites in Manson Family Vacation, a romantic comedy that deals with millennials being forced to go analog in 3rd St. Blackout, Mark Twain inspired treasure seekers that can’t seem to grow up in Band of Robbers, and more.

Details, casts (some of which include Hannibal Buress, Jay Duplass, John Hodgman, Sasheer Zamata, Adam Scott, Janeane Garofalo, and more), and, most importantly, tickets can be found here.

The LA Film Festival Taking Submissions for 2014

Deadlines range from Dec. 6th to Feb. 21st to enter The LA Film Festival for american and international narrative and documentaries, short, mid-length films, music videos, and now, high school short films. 

With that said, please enter so we can get more comedy into higher profile film festivals instead of just having ones focus on comedy.
