Such are the times that being a a brown-skinned comedian, much less one from a country South of the U.S. border, is, shall we say, dicey. That’s only one of a myriad of reasons why Chilean comedian, now U.S. citizen Fabrizio Copano made sure to secure his status as an American citizen before releasing his latest special (given Trump’s penchant for wanting kick everyone who isn’t licking his boots out of the country). Fabrizio walked us through the whole, precedent setting, comedy history making journey on this week’s TCB Field Report.

Watch Fabrizio Copano Make U.S. Late Night Debut on Corden

Fabrizio Copano has already made a name for himself as a comedian in his home country of Chile and all around South America. That said, the very clever and charming (what a great cardigan, no?) Copano has been working hard at making in-roads in the U.S. market for comedy right before and during the pandemic all the way through to now where he just debuted doing stand-up in English on U.S. late night TV (he’s done plenty of late night in South America) on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

Copano made a hell of a first impression with roasting his friend, the current President of Chile, maintaining boundaries as a parent, and dissecting the label of “American” (or ‘MERican).
