Donald Trump returns to host #SNL November 7 with musical guest @Sia! pic.twitter.com/kreVe6iSpD

11 years ago when Donald Trump wasn’t running for president, he hosted Saturday Night Live.

Now, in 2015, the circumstances are much different and the stakes are arguably higher as The Donald will take on hosting duties on SNL yet again on Nov. 7th.

If anything, it’ll be interesting to see how they handle the division between NBC and Trump (i.e. no longer hosting The Apprentice).

Do take note that SNL has handled politicians with an agenda hosting the show on more than one occasion.

It wouldn’t be hard to imagine the Stephen Colbert of The Colbert Report would have no issue with really going for the jugular of a guest like Donald Trump.

In fact, at the top of Trump’s appearance on The Late Show last night, Colbert apologized, as he has to hit more of the middle of the road on a broadcast network, for everything he’s said about the Donald over the years.

Stephen still managed to keep the interview enthralling for his old and new fan bases by letting Donald say whatever he was going to say like letting him not apologize for anything.

The game of over-the-top conservative pundit Colbert and Trump sayings was another perfect example of how Stephen didn’t step on anyones toes too much.

This election year just got a whole lot more interesting as far as comedy is concerned. Yesterday, Donald Trump announced that he is going to run for President of The United States, which very much seemed like a present from the comedy gods.

Certainly, Stephen Colbert like the rest of the comedy world is already setting up for what will be a tornado of ridiculous soundbites and comb overs as you can see in Colbert’s announcement about Trump’s announcement done in the style of Trump’s announcement.
