Funny or Die is really expanding their brand with their weatherman competition and now this Archie stage production.

Adam McKay is set to write it, while Funny or Die and Archie Comics will collaborate on the actual production at a date TBD.

McKay commented on the project, “Archie represents a bygone era of America and like all bygone eras, there are elements we miss and elements that should be bygone. This will be a musical that deals with both those realities in a bright, colorful and slightly demented way.”

So, with that in mind, you can look forward to both this Archie and A Confederacy of Dunces done live on stages in the not so distant future.

Given that it’s animated, one can only imagine if they’ll even go more over-the-top than they have in the trilogy of Sharknado movies.

SyFy and Archie Comics are indeed teaming up to have a special issue of Archie where a tornado of sharks comes through Riverdale set to come out in July written by Sharknado director himself Anthony C. Ferrante.

One can only wonder how campy the folks behind Sharknado will get in the Archie universe. Maybe one shark will eat Jughead and don his crown?

While chatting with Jimmy Kimmel last night, she delved a little into what might come of her version of the Archie Comics and what she fears in the world of Archie fandom.

Kimmel also makes a good call on who would play a good Jughead in a live action version of Archie.
