Pandemic or no, sex workers all around the world do some very essential work and very much need to be appreciated and supported as such. Dec. 17th marks International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers and UK’s Siân Docksey will be putting an extravaganza of a live-stream comedy variety show, Stand Up for Sex Workers.
Slated to do stand-up, pole dancing, drag, and more are many of the UK’s best comedians, strippers, and drag performers including: Desiree Burch, Fern Brady, Jacq the Stripper, Kitty Velour, Sikisa, Lauren Elise, Joe Sutherland, Carmen Ali, That Ray, Sasha Diamond, Sue Gives a F*ck, and Kelly Vee.
Proceeds from Stand Up for Sex Workers will go to funds and charities in the UK that strive to end violence against sex workers as well as supporting sex workers in crisis due to COVID-19. So, watching this live-stream will give you an entire evening of British comedy and variety (that’s not for kids) and you’ll be giving sex workers the respect and aid that they deserve.
