The marriage of live entertainment and cinema are fast becoming more commonplace at your local movie theater as shown most recently by Monty Python Live (Mostly). While Monty Python’s live shows at London’s O2 Arena were sold in mere seconds, plenty of folks saw a livestream and rebroadcasts of the show in their favorite multiplex.
Enough of them saw it that Monty Python scored #3 all time of the biggest live cinema events in the U.K. With that type of sway, it only makes you think of the possibilities of other live comedy events being in theaters. Rifftrax does pretty well here in the states with their live “riff” events.
Whose to say that the taping of an hour stand up special from a big enough comedian wouldn’t make it to a theater in the not so distant future.
On top of all of that, you can expect to be purchase a copy of Monty Python Live (Mostly) sometime in November, which is exciting for the overwhelming number of us that couldn’t make it to a theater or the O2 Arena.
