Today, Jerry Stiller passed away at the age of 92. According to son Ben Stiller, Jerry passed away from natural causes. Many of you knew him as Frank Costanza from Seinfeld, but Stiller had a long storied career in film and TV playing pitch perfect opinionated father/authority figures.
Also, Stiller was part of the foundational proto-improv group The Compass Players with wife Anne Meara. Of course, many of the members of The Compass Players went on to form The Second City.
So, take a moment to honor Jerry Stiller’s memory, watch some select episodes of Seinfeld, perhaps peruse his filmography, then enjoy some of his scene-stealing roles (his cameo in Zoolander is our favorite).
I’m sad to say that my father, Jerry Stiller, passed away from natural causes. He was a great dad and grandfather, and the most dedicated husband to Anne for about 62 years. He will be greatly missed. Love you Dad. pic.twitter.com/KyoNsJIBz5
