New Line Setting to Remake New Zealand Horror Comedy “Housebound”

(via The Hollywood Reporter)

Today is a good day for the genre of New Zealand Horror Comedy. Not only is Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi’s What We Do In The Shadows going to see more U.S. screens, but another film in the same niche, Gerard Johnstone’s Housebound is going to get an American remake via New Line

Housebound follows a firebrand teenage girl being forced back into a family home that is possessed, but, being a rebel, she isn’t putting up with any fuss from demons/spirits.

No writer, cast, or director is set yet, but something that sounds like Attack The Block meets Amityville Horror hailing from NZ is a movie that we’re definitely up for.
