Martin Scorcese’s “The King of Comedy” Is Headed to Broadway as a Musical

(via Variety)

If Rupert Pupkin was crazy enough to kidnap a late night talk show host in order to tell jokes on late night, is it so crazy if he sings while doing it?

Out of Scorcese’s vast filmography, The King of Comedy that follows Pupkin in pursuing his crazed dream is the Scorcese classic that will be the adapted into a stage musical for Broadway

The award winning musical talents of Stephen Trask and Chris D’Arienzo are collaborating on the adaptation.

While seeing a musical of The Wolf of Wall Street or maybe After Hours would be fun, this could be fun, possibly more so than the very darkly comedic film, especially if they can get Sandra Bernhard to reprise her original role.
