Henry Phillips’ Henry’s Kitchen Is Back and Now Putting on a “Masterclass”

October 22, 2018
Uncategorized

If the myth of Sisyphus were translated into a modern day form (that also happened to be one of the funniest things on the Internet), it just might be Henry Phillips and his existential laden attempts at hosting a cooking show.

That show, of course, is called Henry’s Kitchen and is indeed one of our all time favorite web series and just got a whole new lease on life via Thrillist to do a “Masterclass”. In it, Henry gets an even nicer kitchen to ponder point of it all while doing his best with/botching whatever he’s cooking.

Dive in with this first entry Green Onions and then a whole row of new eps here.

If you want to see how daft comedy can truly get (in the best way possible of course, done by very talented, clever folks), you might want to catch Brendon Small and Brendon Walsh’s BREN2ON (pronounced BREN-TU-DIN) at the end of this month (Tuesday, May 29th at 8PM) at Lyric Hyperion Theatre & Cafe.

Brendon and Brendon really push the limits of how silly and dumb they can get (i.e. prank calls, DIY crafts, etc.) and, in a unique way, it’s brilliant. Also, the amazing Morgan Murphy, Henry Phillips, and Jamie Loftus will be joining them as well.

Tickets are $5 and you can (and really should) get them here.

First, he made a brand new holiday themed episode of Henry’s Kitchen where he tries making a ‘holiday fish stew’. Watch it and decide if that’s a road you want to go down instead of ham or turkey.

Second, he has just released a Henry’s Kitchen Cookbook, which is perfect for anyone who is looking for an “alternative” to traditional cooking.

This year, Henry has really outdone himself in attempting to cook for us all during these holidays.

If you’re either the sort of person that prefers their stand-up with audio only or one that doesn’t have an HBO or Netflix account/password, you can now get to listen to three comedy specials from three of our favorite comedians making the rounds these days.

Tig Notaro’s Boyish Girl Interrupted, first premiered as an HBO special, is now on iTunes.

Jen Kirkman’s I’m Gonna Die Alone (And I Feel Fine), first premiered as a Netflix special, is also now available on iTunes.

Henry Phillips’ Neither Here Nor There is set to premiere as a comedy special on Vimeo On Demand on August 15th, but you can stream the audio version on Audible’s streaming service, Channels, if you’re an Audible member right now. On August 19th, the album version will be available digitally at iTunes and wherever else digital albums or sold.

So, get in on all of these, especially for the fact that you can now probably clock in three new hours of fine comedy while working.
