Get Your First Look at Hannah Gadsby’s Third Netflix Special “Something Special”

Nanette set the comedy world ablaze. Douglas was a craftily devised follow-up that put any controversy about the legitimacy of Hannah Gadsby’s comedy to rest.

Now, Gadsby has her third Netflix special premiering next week and she promises it to be a “feel good” special. That should say a lot considering how blisteringly funny Douglas was. Of course, Gadsby, being one of the most precise comedians in that all of her stories and bits seem to be perfectly measured for maximum effect (whatever effect it may be that Gadsby desires), the concept of a “feel good” special could mean many things (in addition to it being an hour of hard punchline packed jokes).

In any case, Something Special ought to live up to its name and will likely be one of the highest profile specials of 2023, a year that has already seen a live Chris Rock special, Marc Maron‘s latest, and Mulaney’s new hour where he details rehab.

Get your first look at what Gadsby had up her sleeve for the live audience at The Sydney Opera House and for the rest of us on Netflix come May 3rd here.
