Pick of the Day: Mega the Podcast (in NYC) 11/12
The idea of faith and spirituality are things that have been shaken to their core over the last three years (or probably a lot longer if we’re being honest). Thus, Mega the Podcast has been both one of the most soothing and simultaneously hysterical podcasts streaming today with their pitch perfect poking and dissecting of megachurches around the country and the world.
Greg Hess and Holly Laurent play pastors at the fictional mega church, Twin Hills, claiming fervently that their bringing the word of god to their flock with a “tiny family feel”. Their send-up of the some of the most egregious there is when it comes to organized religion is a great comedic reminder that you’re not, to co-opt a celebrated christian text, “left behind”.
Greg and Holly will be bringing their prickly gospel to Caveat in NYC on Sat. Nov. 12th at 7PM and everyone in and around the NYC area should not miss out.
