Pick of the Day: Filipino Comedy Festival (in NYC) 10/20 & 10/21
It’s comedy festival season in NYC. The New York Comedy Festival is on the horizon, there is Apartment Fest 2023, and now there is the very first Filipino Comedy Festival, presented by the NYC Filipino comedy collective that is Banana Ketchup, that’s coming to NYC as well (just in time for Filipino American Heritage Month, FYI).
Keith Pedro, Patricia Dinglasan, and Kyle Marian will indeed be taking over Caveat in LES for four shows over two night highlighting some of the best Filipino comedians, many of which have gotten shine elsewhere on TV or in LA & NYC including Michael Cruz Kayne, Andrew Orolfo, and Clare O’Kane. Fingers crossed that there will be plentiful lumpia as well instead of the typical comedy show staple of chicken fingers.
Come kick off this inaugural Filipino Comedy Festival on Fri. Oct. 20th and Sat.. Oct. 21st and you can snag $15 tickets if you go buy them right now (this will also be available for livestream if you’re not in NYC or maybe in the P.I.).
