Where Is My Wife?/Syrian Cheese (in LA)
In Where Is My Wife? Dr. Seema Yasmin’s one woman show, she mines the chaos of ambition, immigration, and the ghosts of ancestors—generations of repressed women—whose unfinished dreams she’s trying to complete before lunch; all while searching for her ideal match: a Malibu Power Lesbian.
Dr. Seema Yasmin is an Emmy award-winning journalist, former CNN reporter, disease detective, author, clown, and comedian, in a long-term, ethically non-monogamous relationship with her careers.
Syrian Cheese is a comedic solo show about exile from Syrian dictatorship, sketchy situationships, and gender confusion. Part clown, part stand-up, part fever dream, Syrian Cheese is a surreal love letter to the ideals of the Syrian revolution: freedom, dignity, and daddy issues. Farhan explores the struggle to assert one’s own voice in life and love under the watchful, exasperated eye of their ancient desert ancestor. Because your healing goes back seven generations–and so do your f*ck-ups! Full of heart and irreverence, Farhan’s performance takes audiences through the full spectrum of human experience–love, loss, and hunger for dairy.
Edib Farhan is a Syrian standup, clown, and conflict mediator. Their solo show Syrian Cheese debuted at Edinburgh Fringe in 2025 and was selected by the National Queer Theater for their Criminal Queerness Festival. In 2024, their ensemble show, Perversity, Equity, & Inclusion won “Best of SF Fringe Festival” and “Best Box Office” at San Francisco Fringe Festival.
