THE ELYSIAN PRESENTS: A LOVE LETTER TO SILENT FILM! “YOU’RE THE ONE” (in LA)

February 11, 2024 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
$15
  • « Fourth Wall Comedy Cafe (in LA)
  • Mystery Comedy Big Game Theater 3000 (in LA) »

In 1927, our building, 1944 Riverside Drive, was built as “The New Elysian,” a five-hundred seat silent movie theater just on the edge of Hollywood, which was quickly becoming the world’s film capital. Now, in 2024, we’re starting a silent movie revival with the great Michael Mortilla,  (award-winning composer, musician, silent film connoisseur, and friend of the Elysian who appears each week in Ron Lynch’s The Tomorrow! Show), who will perform a LIVE PIANO SCORE to the films that likely lit up this same space nearly a hundred years ago.

For a Valentine’s Day-themed matinee, get your fix of three (silent) romantic comedies. The Elysian Presents: A Love Letter to Silent Film! “You’re The One”: Mabel Normand’s “Won in a Cupboard,” Keaton’s “One Week” & “Seven Chances”
