Spank: Monster Like Me (in LA)

October 21, 2024 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
$6.50
  • « Stellar Cellar @ baby battista @ nico’s (in LA)
  • Boom Mic @ Boomtown Brewery (in LA) »

It’s a show where we let sketch teams and solo performers try some shit out!

Some will be good, some will be bad but it will all be weird and new and that’s what makes it fun!

It’s experimental sketch at it’s finest! Come on, you know you need a spanking.

This Monday, we have:

Monster Like Me: A Trans Puppet Musical!

A musical-in-progress by Sara Caplan about two monsters who live in adjacent closets and start talking through a hole in the shared wall. She’s been thinking about it in some form or another for nine years, but now has to actually write it. It is a cast of three, Sara, Mary Lou (Moon Goon), and Emily Skeggs (Mamma Mia! But Different), with music written by Sara and arranged by Sam Johnides & Tony Gonzalez.

The show is probably going to be funny, but it’s not a comedy really. It’s more… well… it’s trying to figure itself out really.

Please come help Sara figure out how to finish the show!

Cast: Sara Caplan, Mary Lou, Emily Skeggs

With musical accompiment from Sam Johnides & Tony Gonzalez
