Smoke Show with Sweetin: A Comedy Pageant (in LA)
Smoke Show with Jodie Sweetin – Smokechella Edition
In order to understand all the festivals, we decided to throw our own: Smokchella, an imaginary music festival of chaos, comedy, and glitter. From improvised pageantry to over-the-top antics, it’s a night where anything can happen on the Polo field (and probably will).
Smoke Show is part comedy pageant, part chaotic game night, and total spectacle. Hosted by Jodie Sweetin, comics face absurd challenges, perform wild talent showcases, and play unhinged games to claim the coveted Smoke Show Superstar crown, sash and coveted meat stick bouquet.
This month’s lineup features a lot of heat and heavy competition provided by contestants: Roz Hernandez, Mike Falzone, and Kevin Christy, with an opening set by Austin Kress.
Whether you’re here for improv, glitter, crowning ceremonies, or just unhinged chaos, Smoke Show promises a night of comedy unlike any other, a warm-up for bigger things, including Smoke Show’s appearance at the Netflix Is a Joke Festival on May 9th.
Mike Falzone is a stand-up comedian known for noticing the little things and saying them out loud. He’s been creating on YouTube since 2006 and has appeared on CBS, Hulu, Just for Laughs, and Dynamic Banter.
Kevin Christy is a multi-hyphenate artist who will downplay all of his achievements. You can catch him at the Comedy Store or as a weird white guy character on some of your favorite TV shows, including Mad Men, Grey’s Anatomy, 24: Legacy, and Masters of Sex.
Roz Hernandez is a comedian, actor, and host known for her paranormal comedy podcast Ghosted by Roz Hernandez and for appearing on Hulu’s Living for the Dead. She performs stand-up across the country and on TV, and describes herself as a Miss Piggy type, which we think is shorthand for absolute icon.
Jodie Sweetin is an actress, author, podcaster, and advocate, best known as Stephanie Tanner on Full House and Fuller House. She cohosts the How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast with Andrea Barber and now focuses on stand-up and live comedy, co-producing this monthly LA show with comedy writers Sabrina and Gia Cognata. Offstage, she’s vocal in activism and mental health advocacy, using her platform to support others.
