SILENT FILM – BACK FROM THE DEAD (in LA)

Silent films return to The Elysian! Originally a silent move theater that opened in 1927, the theater’s screens have remained dark for nearly 70 years. And it comes back to life with a double feature! Buster Keaton stars in a riotous comedy – “The Haunted House” (1921). The feature film is “Nosferatu.” (1922) Directed by F. W. Murnau and starring Max Schreck as the vampire. The story is based on Bram Stoker’s “Dracula” and the film is classic silent film! Stunning iconic images, a beautifully tinted print, and an original score performed live by Michael D. Mortilla. The piano accompaniment will be completely improvised.
