Nice Try: A Solo Character Show (in NYC)

January 5 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
$18.76
  • « We Can’t Read @ The Glendale Room (near LA)
  • The Tiny Cupboard (in NYC) »

Nice Try is a solo character show written and performed by Lily Blumkin. While packing up her childhood home, Lily realizes she has a completely different image of what her adolescence was like. Nice Try is an absurdist show about perception vs. reality, surviving the awkward teenage years, and watching a bunch of idiots try their best and utterly fail. Directed by Ariel Gitlin, Nice Try is Lily’s debut character show!

Lily Blumkin is an award-winning writer, currently working as the Writers’ Assistant at The Daily Show where she is also a featured Sketch Player. In April of 2023, she wrote for Roy Wood Jr.’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner speech. Lily was a featured act in SF Sketchfest, New York Comedy Festival, NYC Sketchfest, and her writing was listed as the “Best of 2023” in the literary humor publication Points in Case. She was also Millburn Middle School’s Peer Leader of the Year in 2009, and THAT’S a brag.
