Hoping to capitalize on the success of Marvel films like “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” Sony Pictures decided to greenlight a “Morbius the Living Vampire” movie starring the lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars. They wanted a dark universe of films around Spider-Man villains, and instead they got… whatever this was.
