A casting office in Burbank in spring 2007. 6 women in overalls and blonde wigs competing for one role: a mother at her daughter’s wedding in Greece, surprised by the arrival of the three people who could be her child’s father. A young, upcoming, multi-Oscar winning hopeful named Meryl Streep who struggled to even get in the door. You might know the story of “Mamma Mia!”, but there’s no way you know the intricate inner struggles of the actresses who dreamed of being Donna (it’s “A Chorus Line” with ABBA music, okay?).
