Major Fix is a PowerPoint lecture series in which New York City’s brightest creative minds present on their personal obsessions, followed by an audience Q&A. Topics have included The Rise and Fall of Rudy Giuliani, Anthropomorphic Logos, and Things Men Can Do To Make Themselves Hotter, among others.

Major Fix VIII is Thursday, February 5th at 9:00, and features these lectures:

Sami Reiss: Cigarettes and Health: A Complication
Max Mellman: Who Is This Decade’s ‘Little Yellow Guy’?
Ali Royals: How One Direction Fans Can Save American Democracy

Hosted by: Jordan Sowunmi
Art by: Anthony Smith & Jeff Lam

Sami Reiss
Sami Reiss writes two best-selling Substacks: Snake Super Health, covering dark wellness/advanced health, and Snake (furniture), whose 2014 through ‘18 archives are available through Shining Life Press. His writing appears in other print publications as well; he is from eastern Ontario and is based in New York.

Max Mellman
Max Mellman is a sound mixer, record collector & wife guy originally from Cleveland, Ohio. During his sixteen years in New York City, he has not written for any prominent outlets, appeared in any interesting shows, or done much of note. Still, he watched 263 movies last year and is directly responsible for Timothée Chalamet’s success. A longtime lover of various little yellow guys, his ironic-turned-sincere love of Minions nearly got his internet shut off. His wife says it has “gone too far.”

Ali Royals
Ali Royals loves true stories and hates writing in the third person. She’s a poet, essayist, and occasional DJ from Baltimore whose writing has appeared in Byline, Office Mag, and the LA Review of Books. She was in her high school cafeteria when Zayn Malik left One Direction…where were you?

Jordan Sowunmi
Jordan Sowunmi is an American man, born and raised in Toronto.
