JOSEI SENYO (女性専用) All Japanese Women Comedy Show (in LA)

Josei Senyo (女性専用) is inspired by the “Women only” train cars in Japan. This show is aiming to inspire and have more opportunities for Japanese and Japanese American women to be on the stage in Little Tokyo where there is a strong sense of community. By coming together, Josei Senyo Comedy strives to welcome everyone to create more safe spaces for women.

Holding the first Josei Senyo Comedy Show on International Women’s Day gives a deeper meaning of reclaiming female voices. Women are far too often silenced and not taken seriously. Josei Senyo aims to provide a platform for women to speak their truth and celebrate each other through comedy.

Proceeds from Josei Senyo will benefit LTSC’s Kosumosu program, a program providing a safe haven for women and children overcoming domestic violence with mental health support, affordable housing, resources, and more.
