Instamacy (in LA)

February 14 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm
$15
  • « The Sketch Stages of Love presented by Maude & Betty (in LA)
  • The Book of Mormon (in LA) »

Experience love at first swipe with Jake Timeline and his giant, living 85-inch wing-phone Pluggy in Instamacy, an interactive narrative pop concert about sex, romance, frigidity, isolation and desire in a world where our little phones dominate our big lives.

Who do you post for? What’s your prompt history? Beyond facile Luddite critiques and corny tech utopianism, Instamacy is a story about coming to terms with your own desire as expressed through your disavowed online life — about facing, and creating, yourself in the 21st century.

Built from last year’s double-sold-out early prototype “It All Started in the Garage” at the Elysian Theater Spaghetti Festival, Instamacy breathes life into Jake Timeline’s giant smartphone Pluggy with the help of a completely new motion-capture and animation hybrid approach performed by Hollywood Fringe star Linzy Beltran.

Finally, an honest man shows you his phone.
