Inner Voices (in LA)

“Inner Voices” is written and performed by Kara Morgan. Kara is a main company member of the Groundlings with over a decade of experience writing and directing her own content. Her short films TROUBLE IN TRAINSVILLE and MAGNIFICAT have been shown at film festivals across the country. Kara created the stop motion sequences in Janet Varney’s FORTUNE ROOKIE (IFC) and has also appeared in NIGHT COURT (NBC). A trained opera singer, Kara co-created the opera sitcom BELLI GEMELLI with Heidi Tungseth, winning the Pick of the Fringe, the Encore Producers Award and the Outrageous Award for Theater at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.

Kara began creating her “inner voices” characters in 2021 when she was diagnosed with OCD. Her Perfectionist character was the first to go viral online, and was soon followed by her characters the Inner Child, the Ego, Anxiety, The Inner French person and many more. “Inner Voices” is about Kara’s search for peace and acceptance among all the varied parts of her self.

David Crabb, the director of “Inner Voices” is a writer, performer & creator of the solo show “Bad Kid” (New York Times Critics’ Pick) and writer of the memoir “Bad Kid” (Harper Perennial). His upcoming credits include “Sex Lives of College Girls,” & “Rambler” with Owen Wilson. You can hear him playing multiple weirdos on Wondery’s “This Job is History” with Chris Parnell. David has performed solo works in LA, Australia, Scotland, Texas & NYC and his storytelling has been featured on NPR, Buzzfeed & The Moth. He’s the host of Risk! at Lyric Hyperion in LA.
