Do You Accept These Charges? is a true, narrative solo comedy show written and performed by TV writer/comedian, Laurie Magers. It details her relationship with an incarcerated multi-felon whom she met while he was on parole, and continued to date after he was re-imprisoned.

Through a multimedia mix of storytelling and theater, Laurie takes the audience through the story of their relationship, pre and post-lock up, from visits to prison letters to drug smuggling and more, while letting the audience in on the background of how and why she ended up there. It explores themes of love addiction, abuse, sexuality, and the complexities of the American prison system, but don’t worry, it’s hilarious.

Written & performed by Laurie Magers

Directed by Bente Engelstoft
