This week Brandon Collins interviews Justin Williams about African history.

Brandon Collins is a comedian and screenwriter who has performed at SXSW and the New York Comedy Festival in addition to appearing in various productions and publications. Brandon was named one of the International Screenwriters Association’s “Top 25 Screenwriters to Watch in 2026”, a “Yes and…Laughter Lab” finalist, and invited to be part of ISA’s Development Slate.

Justin Williams an associate professor of History and director of the African American Studies Program at University of Detroit Mercy. He specializes in the politics of modern Africa and its diasporas. He is also a comedian, co-host of “Fraudsters” on the Last Podcast Network, and managing member of Newark Culture Club.
